What is a registrar?
Posted by James Robshaw on 04 May 2006 12:58 PM

A registrar is a body that has been authorised by ICANN to administer certain types of domains. You can check who the registrar for a domain is by performing a 'whois' look up (www.allwhois.com).

ProExe acts as a reseller for the following (amongst many others) registrars:

Nominet UK - the accredited registrar for all .uk domains.
Tucows - the registrar for .com, .net, .org etc domains
OpenSRS - the registrar for .com, .net, .org etc domains
